Welcome to Curtin Cyber Security Club!

Welcome to the place where packets are always well-behaved, passwords are never “1234,” and the only thing we let get compromised is our sleep schedule during CTFs. Whether you’re here to phish for knowledge, crack some challenges, or just ping new friends, you’ll fit right in. Our events are more exciting than a zero-day exploit and safer than your grandma’s Wi-Fi (seriously, please change her router password).

Meet Your Committee

Joshua Mitchell — President

Joshua leads the club’s direction and strategy, focusing on hands-on learning, industry engagement, and a welcoming community. He coordinates partnerships, curates workshops and CTF-style sessions, and empowers sub-teams to deliver events that lift members’ technical depth and confidence.

Leo Paoliello — Vice President

Leo supports strategy, operations, and member experience across the club. He helps design technical workshops that translate theory into practice and works with sponsors and guest speakers to connect students with the wider WA cyber ecosystem.

Nikki Doan — Treasurer & Marketing

Nikki looks after the dollars, managing budgets, grants, and sponsorships while running campaigns that get students into rooms (and labs). She keeps events funded, accessible, and well-promoted, and pairs data-driven marketing with clear branding so members always know what’s on, why it matters, and how to get involved.

Areesha Majid — Secretary

Areesha handles governance and member ops, meeting agendas and minutes, policy and compliance, and the behind-the-scenes processes that make a student club run smoothly. She maintains our documentation (including safe-spaces and grievance processes) and ensures committee decisions turn into action items with owners and timelines. With Areesha on logistics, volunteers can spend more time building great technical content.
